A collaboration with friend Clark Casebolt to create a detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU) for rental income. With a shared interest in sustainable building, we explored a variety of construction methods before choosing structural insulated panels (SIPs). The building was prefabricated off-site to our design, transported by truck, and assembled on the property. Duncan Murphy Design also completed the interior finish carpentry. The project included a new timber-framed porch and a solar array for the main residence.
